Training
TRAINING
Training should be regarded as an investment, providing your business with a firm foundation on which to build. Although we do not deliver training ourselves, we are happy to recommend a number of organisations who do.
Amersham & Wycombe College
Amersham & Wycombe Services to Business (part of Amersham & Wycombe College) provides a focused, high quality service to help identify and fulfil your organisation's training and development needs. They are well established in the region as a training organisation which has helped thousands of employees to enhance their knowledge and skills for the benefit of local firms and the local economy.
Many of their training programmes can be run on your premises if that is more convenient to you. Alternatively, they have negotiated preferential day delegate rates with a number of prestigious local conference venues such as Missenden Abbey, Chartridge, Uplands, Latimer, Bisham Abbey and Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers FC.
They develop their portfolio continuously in order to be flexible and responsive to the needs of organisations and their employees. Please contact them and they will be happy to discuss your requirements.
If you're not sure where to start, their Training Needs Analysis maps your organisation's aims and objectives against the workforce's existing capabilities. They may recommend an accredited qualification or a bespoke training course, or refer you to another training provider where appropriate. Training Needs Analysis is free of charge from Amersham & Wycombe Services to Business.
For further information on their Services to Business, please call Moira Hamer (Services to Business Manager) on 01494 585508, email s2b@amersham.ac.uk or see http://www.amersham.ac.uk/.

Buckinghamshire New University (formerly BCUC)
BNU's three faculties are aligned to distinct employment markets to ensure interaction between staff, students and employers. Our courses include the study of management, leadership and entrepreneurship, so that our graduates are ready for the workplace, whatever career they choose to pursue.
Our knowledge is made available to businesses and employers through:
Knowledge exchange - providing advice through applied research, consultancy, short courses, and knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs) - three-way partnerships that are part-funded by the government and help businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through the use of the knowledge and skills within the UK's universities.
Research and consultancy - an essential element of economic prosperity. Each faculty has a dedicated Head of Research, with substantial sector-specific experience. The University has a consultancy service dedicated to helping businesses access expert advice.
Graduate recruitment - enabling employers to make use of our highly-educated and enthusiastic students in full- or part-time roles, as well as through placements and work experience.
The University's My Great Business Idea Competition encourages students from all disciplines to develop ideas with commercial potential. Students also participate in competitions organised by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and in a range of activities undertaken each year during Enterprise Week.
BNU is a founding partner of CommercialiSE, a collaborative project involving 11 higher education institutions, which is designed to build stronger links between universities and SMEs, and encourages innovation through funding, training and mentoring.
The Corporate Environmental Advisory Centre has been providing environmental management support to businesses in the Thames Valley Region since 1997, and can offer advice on environmental best practice and legislation.
