Aylesbury Vale Advantage
Aylesbury Vale Advantage (AVA) is a company limited by guarantee and with five shareholders: Aylesbury Vale District Council; Buckinghamshire County Council; The Vale of Aylesbury Primary Care Trust; the South East England Development Agency; and English Partnerships.
The organisation (funded by the governmental office - Community and Local Government) is charged with setting up and managing a framework for action to deliver the growth agenda as outlined within The Milton Keynes and South Midlands Sub-Regional Spatial Strategy (MKSM SRSS). Aylesbury Vale District - A Business Friendly Council
Aylesbury Vale is a district on the move with major plans for expansion both in business and in housing. As part of its commitment to develop the local economy, the council has two clear priorities: to help new businesses set up and grow and to help existing businesses to flourish and expand.
To help meet this objective it has a dedicated business support team set up to provide practical advice and support to business. The team can advise you on the AVDC Business Grants Scheme, help you to find suitable premises, provide information on the local economy and give you the opportunity to promote your businesses' products and services on the new AVDC Online Business Directory. It can also refer you on to other agencies such as Bucks Enterprise and Business Link for more specialist business advice.
Under the AVDC Business Grants Scheme business start ups are potentially eligible for up to £3,000 and existing business for up to £5,000 in funding. The funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including market research/marketing, purchase of equipment, staff training, etc.

Chiltern Business Club
CBC is a self-governing association of business men and women in the Chiltern area. the Club meets at 8pm on the third Tuesday of every month except August, at Missenden Abbey in Great Misenden with an optional dinner at 7pm.
The club evenings are normally arranged around a specialist speaker on a wide range of topics relevent to SME's. The club also organises a programme of social events. Benefits of the club include the provision of a regular forum where members can discuss business in a relaxed environment. It promotes informal networking and shares best practice information. It also canvasses opinion amongst members on matters of topical interest and provides a voice to appropriate authorities. Subjects covered in 2007 have included, Patents and Intellectual property, the Eden Project in Wycombe and Setting up business in India and China.

Connexions Buckinghamshire provides services to 42,000 13-19 year olds (up to 25 years for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities).
Connexions services are provided by Personal Advisers (PAs). PAs provide support on a range of topics including education, training and employment.
Their professionally trained and experienced staff know the local area and appreciate the needs of local employers. Connexions is ideally placed to link young people looking for employment to employers.
Connexions services to employers are free of charge, which cover:
- an opportunity to discuss your company's requirements and agree vacancy details;

Debt Talk is a small UK based Social Enterprise that has taken an idea and allowed that idea to grow and evolve into a service that is designed to prevent debt by using basic financial education.
They use The Financial Services Authority and Basic Skills resources to ensure an accurate and impartial money management course. Due to the flexibility of the delivery and timetable the workshops are ideal for 16-19 year olds, young mums, schools, colleges, universities, councils and housing associations.
